BELIEVE IN YOU DESPITE THE PAST

I realized that people will always define you by your weakness. This happens even when they are given a chance to recommend you for a position. My proof is found from the book of 2 Samuel 9: 3, when David the King wanted to bless someone form the household of Jonathan. A notable fact is that when the king asked if there was anyone left the answer given was that yes there is one who was lame on both feet.
 2 Samuel 9: 3,
The king asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?”
Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is lame in both feet.”
Therefore, you must constantly stay in prayer because when your report is given in a negative format, you are likely to miss some chances, unless God intervenes. Imagine if you are due for a promotion and the boss is given a negative report by a person who may not have your best interest.  In such as case, you must always intercede for your own destiny that the king would always favor you despite the reports.
Luckily, King David who was a man after God's heart never changed his mind. However, there was another problem, he was afraid as the first statement that David spoke to him was do not be afraid. meaning he was fearful.
                                                        2 Samuel 9: 7,
“Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”
But there was another problem that presented itself when Mephibosheth appeared before the king and was given a place on the King's table :He had a low self esteem, he did not believe in himself. This is a killer of destiny as it can lock doors and opportunities. 1 believe that Mephibosheth had been despised because of his situation and he had ended up hating himself. it is also clear that he had no one to teach him his worth as he described himself as a dead dog who is not worth to sit with the King.
2 Samuel 9: 8,
Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?”
Never allow the negative reports you receive from others form how you define yourself.  You must constantly read the word of God which says you are more than a conqueror, you are fearfully an wonderfully made etc, as this will help you embrace opportunities without fear.Believe in you.

Hold On

Hold on through the storms that life throws your way.
Do not murmur and complain about them
Rather, focus on the greatness you carry
Focus on the potential within
For your talents and gifts will make room for you
They will outdo your weaknesses
And the days of your being looked down upon will be long gone.
